Rarely do I take the time to showcase another designer's work but I have literally lusted after this amazing artist's creations for years and been inspired by her unique, eclectic style. I am talking about the jewelry designs of Love Heals in Ojai, California.

Love Heals is the mother, son and daughter team of Adriana, Gunnar and Elisa. We handcraft all our jewelry in our workshop nestled in the golden hills of Ojai, California. Many adventures and much hard work have brought us here. Adriana fled a dangerous military dictatorship in Argentina as a young woman, escaping to London, where she began supporting herself as a jewelry artist, selling her work in Portobello Rd. Adriana's roaming, gypsy spirit took her all over Europe, eventually settling in Ibiza, Spain, where she gave birth to her son Gunnar in a 400 year-old farm house with no electricity or running water. In 1979, the family relocated to Santa Barbara, California, where she launched her American career. Little Elisa was born right here in Ojai. In the last ten years Gunnar and Elisa have joined their mother to help nurture the creative and spiritual endeavor that is the unique vision of Love Heals. Tree Planting
At Love Heals, our designs embody our commitment to spirit, nature, and service. With your help, we are delighted by the opportunity to plant 10 trees for every piece of jewelry you buy. In the last few years, we have been able to plant 404,212 trees in Africa and the United States. These special Love Heals Trees will offset a major amount of global carbon emissions for the planet over the coming years. Our newest partner to join our effort is Greener Ethiopia (www.greenerethiopia.org), managing a unique program to plant fruit-bearing and forestry trees in Ethiopia, providing villagers with both work and food, and significantly eliminating the temptation to use these trees for fuel. In 2010 we have started sending a team to Ethiopia to document the progress of these trees. We will be posting and sharing photos of these journeys as we get them.
I went on the Love Heals website this morning as I often do, just to get some inspiration. I noticed that they now have an amazing new set up where you can go on line and design your own necklace, bracelet, or earrings!!! You choose what type of chain &/or braided necklace you want to design on; drag it over the the design board and then hand select each vintage silver charm, silver connectors, semi precious stones, etc., to place on your necklace. You move and drag them around wherever you want. I spent about an hour this morning designing a gorgeous necklace that had all of my favorite charms and gemstones on it....everything from a faceted smokey quartz teardrop to a vintage silver four leaf clover. When I was done designing, I was able to save it on line so I can come back to it later and see if I want to make any changes. The total price of the necklace ended up at around $400 which seems to be the average price. The sky is the limit with this...I'm sure I could have kept going and adding more charms as I am literally addicted to them!
