I have long been a lover of MOSAICS. Years ago, when I was a faux finish artist and muralist, clients used to ask me if I knew how to do mosaic tiling. I started experimenting and before I knew it I was hooked on yet another craft! I started small by tiling dinner plates and trivets with broken tile and glass gems. I sold them as candle bases at flea markets. Then I advanced to larger projects such as borders around bathroom mirrors, table tops, etc. Eventually, I even attempted a kitchen backsplash. I used everything from broken vintage china plates to river rock to mug handles and incorporated treasures I had saved such sea glass, coins and shells. Mosaic tiling is really a wonderful art form and such an amazing method of personal expression! It can be very simple and beautiful and it can also be extremely complex. Here are just a few examples of mosaics that I found today that I think are especially interesting. These first seven photos are mosaic tiled mirrors and photo frames available at Fab.com
