MY ROMANCE WITH SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS

My romance with SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS dates back to 2004 when I first started making jewelry.  I was inspired by the work of a talented designer in San  Diego named Jill http://www.jillsjewels.com/JillsJewels.com/home.html who made lovely bracelets with hand made glass beads, sterling silver and Swarovski Crystals.  I started collecting these bracelets because I loved them so much - especially the sparkly crystals and all of the unique colors!  This is when I became literally addicted to crystals.  I began my jewelry business with an order of about 20 dozen 8mm round crystals from INM Crystal, and, another 20 dozen or so 5mm bicone crystals in assorted colors.  I think the reason I love these crystals so much is that they sparkle like diamonds yet only cost a fraction of what you would pay for gemstones.  They add a certain class and elegance to all hand made jewelry and I have never used any other type of crystal since.  When you purchase Star Candy Designs Jewelry - you are guaranteed to get the real Swarovski Crystal (Austrian Crystal) - not cheap imitation crystals from China. Below are some EXAMPLES of the genuine Swarovski Crystals I use in my jewelry designs:

*WHAT DOES "AB" MEAN?

"AB" Stands for Aurora Borealis.  You will notice the difference on the 2nd round crystal that is labelled Indian Pink AB.  This means that one side of the crystal is sprayed with an iridescent coating making it shimmer and reflect different colors such as blue, violet, yellow, etc.  It gives the bead a totally different look from the regular Indian Pink crystal.  You will expect to pay approx. .42 cents to .50 cents per 8mm round crystal.  The 5mm Bicone crystals run about .12 cents to .15 cents per piece depending on whether they are clear colors or have the AB coating.  The beads with the AB coating on them are a little more expensive.  I especially love them because they really make a bracelet sparkle and add so much more to your designs!
